How They Work?

Depending on the choice of dental sedation and your health, the effect of the relaxation process may vary.

You may prefer oral sedation by taking a prescribed sedative one hour before their appointment. The medication slowly enters the bloodstream and you feel a calmness whilst the procedure is being performed.

With intravenous sedation, a very soft and small needle or IV, that will not cause pain, is placed in a vein, usually in the arm by one of our sensitive and trained dentists. Your blood pressure and heart rate is monitored for adequate dosage and the amount can be altered as you remains conscious but feel much more relaxed. You still maintain control with both of these forms of sedation.

With each option, you will need a chaperone to leave the surgery and should not drive or operate heavy machinery for 24 hours after the sedation.
