Teeth Whitening

At Perfect Smile, we understand how important your smile is and the effect a brighter, whiter smile can have on your life.

There are many reasons why teeth can become discoloured, such as uncontrollable factors like age and genetics, as well as substances like cigarettes, red wine, tea and coffee. With the help of teeth whitening, you can return your smile back to its brighter and whiter self, helping you feel better inside and out, and make a memorable impression.

A brighter, whiter and perfect smile.

Teeth whitening has existed for more than 100 years and is one of the most popular cosmetic dentistry procedures in the world. With the help of today’s technologies, teeth whitening has come a long way and is an excellent way to remove discolouration and stains from your teeth. Overall, teeth whitening is the perfect solution to achieve your own brighter, whiter and perfect smile.

Before & After

Teeth whitening: before and after

Teeth whitening procedures use either hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide to bleach out stains on your tooth enamel. The whitening techniques will vary for everyone, depending on the type of stain and where it is located.

Some people may also need higher concentrates of peroxide, longer or more treatments to remove deeper amounts of staining. The treatment can be completed in surgery or at home, depending on your unique needs and preferences.

Colour comparison: before and after

For those that want to fit teeth whitening around their busy schedules, an at-home treatment will work great for you. Using custom-fitted mouth guards and trays, the whitening gel and trays will be worn around 45 minutes every day for seven to ten days until you achieve a brighter, whiter smile.

For those who want a faster and professionally applied whitening treatment, the in-surgery option is perfect for you. Using more powerful bleaching agents and LED lights to assist the bleach, creating a perfect white smile in no time at all.

How Does Teeth Whitening Work?

1

Step 1

First, your teeth are polished to remove surface debris.

2

Step 2

A plastic “retractor” is put in your mouth to hold your cheeks and tongue out of the way and a rubber coating is applied to your gums to protect them.

3

Step 3

Then, the solution containing the whitening substance is painted on your teeth.

4

Step 4

A light activation system is then used to accelerate the whitening process.

5

Step 5

The solution is then removed and the process is repeated.

6

Step 6

If you want a more pronounced effect you can use a combination of both treatments.
