Perfect Smile Acton, formerly known as Springfield Dental Surgery.
We believe our patients deserve a beautiful and confident smile.
Please read our Safety Steps to familiarise yourself with the updated policies for our practices.
We have completed our refurbishment and have a fantastic 6 surgery practice. We offer all General Dentistry under NHS as well as cosmetic treatments such as dental implants and Invisalign. We specialise in Sedation and treating nervous patients and accept both NHS & Private patients including Gas & Air for children under the age of 18.
Our staff are certified to carry out sedation in a safe and professional environment, and IV Sedation as a form of anxiety control to make treatment more pleasant for patients.
How can I be seen for Sedation Treatment?
You can be referred by your dentist. Your dentist would need to complete a form instructing us of what treatment is required to be carried out and send into the practice along with any relevant x-rays and medical history you have.
Treatment is available for all NHS patients and paying patients would be charged independently. Our independent fees are available directly from the practice. You are welcome to contact the practice for an estimate quotation to guide you on the potential cost of treatment. Our friendly team are happy to answer any questions you may have. We accept referrals from other dental practices.
Sedation For Anxious Patients
No one likes having dental treatment but many of us manage to accept our dentistry with the help of an injection in the gum (local anaesthetic). Some of us however require alternative methods of pain and anxiety control. Your dentist will understand your anxieties and will be pleased to discuss the options.
Conscious Sedation is the safer and powerful modern alternative to general anaesthesia (GA) for most dental procedures. In this technique, specific drugs are administered by injection which enable you to become relaxed and sedated. Although you will remain in verbal contact with your dentist, you may well remember very little about your treatment. Conscious Sedation is inherently safer and more pleasant.
Inhalational Sedation is a method where you breathe a combination of gases which act to relax you. This technique is very safe and is especially suited to treating anxious children.
Who can be treated with sedation?
• Adults over the age of 18 years old
• Adults with no complicated medical history (See referral information)
What Types of treatment can be carried out under sedation?
• All Restorative treatments, including fillings, crowns and root canal treatment.
• Tooth Extractions, including surgical and orthodontic tooth removal
• Implant Placement
Can a patient be seen urgently or as an emergency?
If your dental treatment is an emergency and you are suffering with pain your appointment will be prioritised and the practice will see you as soon as they can. Same day emergency appointments are available. We would suggest you call the practice for advice for any urgent or complicated referral.
