NHS dental charges in England are set nationally, so the amount you pay depends on the treatment band required rather than the number of individual appointments needed to complete the same course of treatment.
If treatment from more than one band is clinically necessary within the same course, you generally pay the charge for the highest applicable band rather than adding each band together. Some patients may also qualify for free NHS dental treatment or help with the cost. These charges have applied in England since 1 April 2026.
