Enquire About Dental Implants

Dental Implants Wigan and Longevity

Implants are designed as a long-term tooth replacement, but how well they last depends on more than the implant itself. Gum health, oral hygiene, smoking, bite forces and regular maintenance all influence the tissues supporting it.

Patients considering dental implants in the Wigan area should therefore think beyond placement alone. Ongoing cleaning and review appointments remain important after the final crown or bridge has been fitted.

Replacing Failing Teeth with Implants

Implants may also be considered when a tooth cannot be predictably restored and extraction becomes necessary. Whether replacement can happen immediately or after healing depends on the condition of the socket, surrounding bone and any infection present.

Your clinician can assess:

  • Whether the tooth is genuinely unrestorable
  • How much bone remains after extraction
  • Whether grafting may be required
  • When implant placement is most appropriate

This allows Wigan dental implants to be planned around the condition of the site rather than following a single timetable for every patient.

Healing After Implant Placement

After placement, the implant needs time to integrate with the surrounding bone. This biological process, known as osseointegration, usually takes place over several months before the definitive restoration is fitted. Perfect Smile describes a typical healing phase of around three to four months.

During this period, the clinician monitors healing and advises on cleaning, diet and temporary restorations where appropriate. The aim is to allow the implant to become stable before it takes the full load of the final crown or bridge.

Experienced Implant Dentist in Wigan

Martin Stewart (GDC 193034) is a Dentist and Implantologist at Perfect Smile Wigan. His clinical background includes oral surgery and implant dentistry, supporting both the surgical and restorative planning involved in replacing missing or failing teeth.

Martin can assess the condition of the proposed implant site, discuss whether additional procedures may be needed, and plan treatment around the final crown or bridge rather than considering implant placement in isolation.

Dental Implant Cost Wigan

The overall dental implant cost in Wigan depends on the number of teeth being replaced and the treatment stages required before the final restoration can be fitted. Patients comparing cheap dental implants in Wigan should check what is included in the quotation. A lower initial figure may not necessarily include the crown, diagnostic imaging or preparatory procedures such as bone grafting.

Where additional treatment is clinically necessary, those requirements can affect the overall fee. Your consultation is therefore used to identify the stages relevant to your case and provide a treatment plan based on those needs.
