Reading Emergency Dentist

Sudden toothache, swelling or damage to a tooth may require prompt assessment. Same-day appointments may be available where possible, depending on the nature of the problem and appointment availability.

If you need an emergency dentist near Reading, contact the practice and describe your symptoms so the dental team can advise on the most appropriate next step.

What is a Dental Emergency?

A dental emergency in Reading may include:

  • Severe or persistent toothache
  • A broken, cracked or damaged tooth
  • Sudden swelling affecting the mouth or face
  • Dental trauma following an accident
  • A lost restoration causing significant pain
  • Signs of infection or an abscess

Prompt assessment can help identify the cause and establish whether treatment is required immediately or at a follow-up appointment.

Urgent Dental Care and Emergency Appointments

During an emergency appointment, the dentist will examine the affected area and may recommend X-rays where further information is needed.

Some problems can be managed during the initial visit, while others require further treatment after the immediate symptoms have been addressed. Patients requiring urgent dental care in Reading can also discuss anxiety or sedation needs where clinically appropriate, as the practice provides IV sedation.

Booking Private Emergency Dental Care

Patients looking for a private emergency dentist near Reading can contact the practice directly to explain the problem and discuss appointment availability.

When booking, describe when the symptoms started and whether you have severe pain, swelling, bleeding or dental trauma. This helps the team understand the urgency of the situation and advise you on the appropriate next steps.
